Collaborating with lighting designer Andre Vanderwert, Apex presents four bold modern works exploring time and texture through sound and light. Brigitta Muntendorf’s explosive Shivers on Speed opens the program, followed by homegrown star Lisa Illean’s Januaries - a memory of Australia’s hot arid landscape. Iceland’s acclaimed composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir follows with another Australian premiere in her work, Hrim, composed as a partner piece to the work that closes the concert - György Ligeti’s timeless and ground-breaking Kammerkonzert.
