ABOUT
Presented and directed by percussionist Jesse Vivante as part of the Australian National Academy of Music recital series.
AN IMMERSIVE SONIC JOURNEY"This program looks to be a live remounting of the pivotal work "Promises" by Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders, and the London Symphony Orchestra. Having received critical acclaim, the 46 minute long neo-classical, ambient, electronic work explores variety of textures and sounds that encompass the listener into a state of relaxation, reflection, and solace.
This work has only been performed live on one occasion since it's inception in 2019. This performance took place in Los Angeles in 2023 making it this concert an Australian Premiere and a truly bespoke visual and auditory experience for both the performers and the audience. The performance of this work is a re-imagination of the original score through my own eyes, the melodic and musical ideas have been reframed, adapted, and will be also improvised in real time to fit this vast array of instruments (most of which are not originally found within the work) and offer a completely unique performance."
